About the Fund
At School For The Dogs, we believe that good training can and should be an integral part of every dog’s life. So often, a little bit of training can make a world of difference to a dog and his or her human family. Behavior issues are the number one reason that dogs are abandoned, and we are proud to have helped countless people modify their lives with their dogs in ways that have resulted in them being able to keep their dogs out of the shelter system.
Unfortunately, because of the high costs associated with running a business in New York City, too often, dog training is priced in such a way that it seems like something only available to those who can afford luxuries. This is why we created a scholarship fund. The goal of this fund is to help those who are looking for assistance in paying for training for rescue dogs. We try to allot three sessions to each dog owner who applies to the fund. Any donation amount is greatly appreciated!

About The Mosaic
In February of 2020, School For The Dogs was honored to be added to a mosaic on a lamppost on St. Mark's Place and Third Avenue in Manhattan as part of the East Village's Mosaic Trail. This blocks-long art project has been growing and changing for more than three decades thanks to mosaicist Jim Power. The lamppost was completely funded by our clients, who purchased photo tiles featuring their dogs. We were able to give 100 percent of the funds to help Jim keep beautifying the neighborhood.
During the pandemic, Jim built out a large mosaic above our staircase at School For The Dogs. It features the photos of the dogs of members who continued supporting us during the shut down and of many of School For The Dogs' owners and staff's dog friends, past and present.
We are currently building out the perimeter of the mosaic. Donate a minimum of $200 to our School For The Dogs Scholarship Fund and we will thank you with a 4.5"-square tile featuring a picture of a dog you love.
